HomeMy WebLinkAboutResolution #2038RESOLUTION NO. ~~~~ A RESOLUTION AMENDING RESOLUTION N0. 2035 (BEING, A RESOLUTION APPROVING A PERSONNEL POLICY FOR THE CITY OF CANTON) WHEREAS, the Negotiations, Grievance and Personnel Committee has determined that it is necessary and in the best interest of the City of Canton to amend the present City Personnel Policy as hereinafter set forth; and, WHEREAS, the Canton City Council has made a similar deter- mination. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF CANTON, Fulton County, Illinois, as follows: 1. That the Canton City Council hereby finds the foregoing recitals to be fact. 2. That the present City of Canton Personnel Policy be, and the same hereby is, amended as follows: A. That Section 2.1 of said Personnel Policy is amended to read as follows: "2.1: PAY PLAN. All personnel not covered by collective bargaining agreement will be compensated as determined by the Canton City Council when re-appointments are made in the month of May of each calendar year (that is, at the beginning of the City's fiscal year). The official pay plan for non-union personnel shall be as set forth in the Resolution making the annual appointments, or, as set forth by a subsequent resolution or ordinance. The City Appropriation and/or Tax Levy Ordinance, or, the City Budget, shall never be construed as vesting in any person a salary range or rate of pay. B. That the present Section 4.2 and 4.3 of the present Personnel Policy, entitled, respectively, "Scheduling of a Vacation" and "Accumulation of Vacation" shall be renumbered as, respectively, Section 4.3 and 4.4. That Section 4.2 of the present Personnel Policy, now entitled "Scheduling of a Vacation" be, and the same hereby is, amended to read as follows: "4.2 Vacation Leave - Permanent Part Time Employees Permanent part time employees shall be granted the ability to accrue paid vacation leave based upon a set formula. However, for the purposes of this document, permanent part time employees shall not be eligable to accrue sick leave, personal days, holiday pay or seniority benefits. Paid vacation leave for permanent part time employees shall have time accrued at the following rate: total hours worked in one year divided by fifty-two (52) weeks equal total hours vacation time at the prevailing hourly wage rate, except that employees with more than five (5) years service shall receive double hours of vacation time." 3. That this Resolution shall be retroactive to and effective as of July 26, 1988. 4. That this Resolution shall be in full force and effect immediately upon its passage by the City Council of the City of Canton, Fulton County, Illinois and approval by the Mayor thereof. PASSED by the City Council of the City of Canton, Fulton County, Illinois at a regular meeting this 2nd day of August , 1988 upon a roll call vote as follows: AYES: Aldermen Chapman, May, Bohler, Meade, Sarff, Steck, Zilly, Kovachevich.
