AN ORDINANCE AMENDING SECTION 10-10-3 OF THE CANTON CITY
CODE BY ADDING AN ADDITIONAL SPECIAL USE IN THE B-3 ZONING
DISTRICT
WHEREAS, it appeazs to the City Council of the City of Canton, that it is
desirable to provide for a Special Use in the B-3 zoning district which would permit the
owner of a two-story business to reside on the second floor thereof, and,
WHEREAS, a use by multi-family units is now possible in such district so that
such a special use would be consistent and permit uniformity,
NOW THEREFORE BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE
CITY OF CANTON:
1. That the following shall be added as Section E to Section 10-10-3 of the Canton
City Code:
(E) Single family residential utilization by owner, of second floor of business
building. Emergency egress must conform to current Municipal Code.
2. That this Ordinance shall be in full force and effect ten (10) days after its
passage by the City Council of the City of Canton, Fulton County, Illinois,
approval by the Mayor thereof, and publication in pamphlet form as provided
by law.
AYES: Alderman Schenck, Meade, Carl, West, Sarff, Hartford.
NAYS: None,
ABSENT: Aldermen Reed, Berardi.
