A RESOLIITION OF SIIPPORT FOR THE
JOHB MEETS MARCH FOR AIDS RBSEARCH
WHEREAS, 17 year old Canton resident John Keets contracted
the AIDS virus while receiving a blood transfusion in treatment of
a form of hemophilia; and,
WHEREAS, since that time he has courageously battled the
disease and is serving as an inspiration to others with the AIDS
virus; and,
WHEREAS, John Keets and other concerned citizens have
organized the John Keets March for AIDS Research to be held
September 21, 1991, in the City of Canton; and,
WHEREAS, proceeds from such march will go to fund AIDS
research; and,
WHEREAS, such march is in the best interest of the citizens
of the City of Canton and of all persons.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY OF CANTON, Fulton
County, Illinois as follows:
1. That the Canton City Council hereby finds the foregoing
recitals to be fact.
2. That the Canton City Council commends John Keets for his
courageous battle with the AIDS virus and his inspirational
example.
3. That the Canton City Council encourages all persons to
participate in the John Keets March For AIDS Research or, to
donate to such cause.
4. That this Resolution shall be in full force and effect
immediately upon its passage by the City Council of the City of
Canton, Fulton County, Illinois this 17th day of September,
1991.
