A RESOLUTION IN SUPPORT OF RURAL PARTNERS
WHEREAS, the City of Canton supports the mission of the
Rural Partners: "To unite the many associations and organizations
throughout Illinois - public and private - having interest in
rural development"; and,
WHEREAS, the City of Canton supports the goal: "To provide
through shared interests and resources, coordinated leadership and
action to achieve community development and economic progress in
small towns and rural areas in Illinois"; and,
WHEREAS, the City of Canton believes Rural Partners should
place its focus of attention in counties experiencing economic and
population decline.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE
CITY OF CANTON, FULTON COUNTY, ILLINOIS AS FOLLOWS:
1. That the Canton City Council hereby finds the foregoing
recitals to be fact.
2. That this Resolution shall be in full force and effect
immediately upon its passage by the City Council of the City of
Canton, Illinois.
PASSED by the City Council of the City of Canton, Fulton
County, Illinois at a regular meeting this 16th day of April,
1991 upon a roll call vote as follows:
AYFS: Aldermen Chapman, May, Bohlen, Meade, Sarff, Steck, Kovachevich.
NAYS: None.
ABSENT: None. One alderman. resigned.
