ORDINANCE NO. ~7.~;
AN ORDINANCE PROHIBITING PARKING ON THE EAST SIDE OF NORTH AVENUE A FROMX~'
~'~~~~~~~~~~~r`'~ NORTH OF THE NORTH LINE OF WEST OLIVE STREET TO A POINT
122 FEET NORTH OF THE NORTH LINE OF WEST OLIVE STREET IN THE CITY OF
CANTON, ILLINOIS.
WHEREAS, the Public Safety and Traffic Committee of the Canton City
Council has determined that it is necessary to prohibit parking on North Avenue
A as hereinafter set forth; and,
WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Canton, Fulton County, Illinois
has made a similar determination.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF CANTON,
Fulton County, Illinois as follows:
1. That no parking of any motor vehicle shall be permitted on the East
side of North Avenue A from ~+~Zt~~xxxxx~a~~ North of the North line of West
Olive Street to a point 12 2 feet North of the North line of West Olive Street,
except for the loading/unloading of passengers at said area.
2. That the Street Superintendent shall post appropriate signs and
appropriate markings informing the public of this provision.
3. That all prior ordinances and resolutions are, to the extent inconsis-
tent with this ordinance,,hereby repealed.
4. Any person who violates this Ordinance shall, upon conviction, be
subject to a fine as set forth in Title 6, Chapter 11 of the Canton Municipal Code.
5. That this Ordinance shall be in full force and effect ten (10) days
after its passage by the City Council of the City of Canton, Fulton County, Illinois,
approval by the Mayor thereof, and publication in pamphlet form as provided by law.
PASSED by the City Council of the City of Canton, Fulton County, Illinois at
a regular meeting this 17 day of November , 1987 upon a roll call vote
as follows:
AYES: Aldermen Kovachevich, Zilly, Steck, Sarff , P~Ieade, Bohler,
May, Chapman,
NAYS: None .
