ORDINANCE NO. 1172
AN ORDINANCE ABATING 60% OF THE SPECIAL SERVICE AREA TAX PREVIOUSLY
LEVIED BY THE CITY OF CANTON IN CITY OF CANTON'S SPECIAL SERVICE
AREA NO. SIX FOR THE FISCAL YEAR BEGINNING MAY 1, 1987 AND ENDING
APRIL 30, 1988.
WHEREAS, the City of Canton and certain taxpayers in City
of Canton Special Service Area Number Six have entered into a
compromise and settlement agreement relating to City of Canton
Special Service Area Number Six; and,
WHEREAS, such agreement requires the City of Canton to abate
60% of the Special Service Area tax in City of Canton Special
Service Area Number Six.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE
CITY OF CANTON, Fulton County, Illinois as follows:
1. That 60% of the Special Service Area Tax in City of Canton
Special Service Area Number Six heretofore levied by Ordinance
for fiscal year 1987 - 1988 (May 1, 1987 through April 30, 1988)
be, and the same hereby is, abated.
2. That the City Clerk is hereby instructed to cause certified
copy of this Ordinance to be filed with the Fulton County Clerk
immediately after its passage and approval.
3. That this Ordinance shall be in full force and effect
immediately upon its passage by the City Council of the City of
Canton, Fulton County, Illinois, and approval by the Mayor thereof.
PASSED by the City Council of the City of Canton, Fulton
County, Illinois at a regular meeting this 20th day of
October 1987, upon a roll call vote as follows:
AYES: Aldermen Kovachevich,
May, Chapman.
NAYS: None.
Zilly, Steck, Sarff, Meade, Bohler,
ABSENT: None.
