ORDINANCE N0.116
AN ORDINANCE AUTHORIZING, DIRECTING AND SETTING THE DATE AND
TIME FOR THE SALE OF PUBLIC AUCTION OF CERTAIN PERSONAL PROPERTY
OWNED BY THE CITY OF CANTON AND NO LONGER NEEDED FOR CITY
PURPOSES.
WHEREAS, the Canton City Council has determined that the
City of Canton presently owns certain items of personal property
no longer needed or used for City purposes; and,
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE
CITY OF CANTON, Fulton County, Illinois as follows:
1. All items listed, and attached as Exhibit A, hereby
approved for sale shall be sold at public auction and to the
highest bidder. Such auction shall be held at the vacant lot
south of Jones Park on East Elm Street on date of October 31,
1987, commencing at 10:00 a.m. and continuing until all items
are sold or until bidding has terminated.
2. The City Clerk is hereby authorized to cause
advertisement of such sale to be made as may be desirable or
required by law.
3. The Mayor may, in his discretion, hire and employ one
or more professional auctioneers to assist in such auction.
4. That this Ordinance shall be effective immediately
upon its passage by the City Council of the City of Canton,
Fulton County, Illinois by at least 3/4 vote of the Corporate
Authorities and approval by the Mayor thereof.
PASSED by the City Council of the City of Canton, Fulton
County, Illinois at a regular meeting this 6th day of
October 1987 upon a roll call vote as follows:
AYES: Aldermen Zilly, Steck, Sarff, Meade, Bohlex, n4ay, Chapman.
NAYS: None.
ABSENT: Alderman Kovachevich.
