ORDINANCE NO. 1165
AN ORDINANCE AMENDING TITLE 8~CHAPTER 9 OF THE CANTON
MUNICIPAL CODE RELATING TO WATER AND SEWER DEPARTMENTS BY
ADDING SECTION 10 RELATING TO CANTON LAKE DAM - REVOLVING
FUND - OPERATION AND MAINTENANCE.
WHEREAS, the Public Works, Water and Sewer Committee has
determined that it is necessary and in the best interest of the
City of Canton to amend Title 8~Chapter 9 of the Canton Municipal
Code as hereinafter set forth; and,
WHEREAS, the Canton City Council has made a similar
determination.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF CANTON Fulton County, Illinois, as follows:
1. That the Canton City Council hereby finds the foregoing
recitals to be fact.
2. That Title 8, Chapter 9 of the Canton Municipal Code is
hereby amended by adding thereto the following Section 10 to read
as follows:
"8-9-10: CANTON LAKE DAM - REVOLVING FUND - OPERATION AND
MAINTENANCE: There is hereby established a Revolving Fund to be
utilized solely for the operation and maintenance of Canton Lake
Dam and, if necessary, for breaching of the structure..,, Said Fund
shall be maintained at an amount of money not less than $25,000.00
and shall otherwise be maintained in conformity with Section
702.40 b) 6)A and with Section 702.60 q) of the Illinois Department
of Transportation rules for construction and maintenance of dams
as the same now exists or may hereinafter be amended."
That this Ordinance shall be in full force and effect
immediately upon its passage by the City Council of the City of
Canton, Fulton County, Illinois, and approval by the Mayor thereof.
PASSED by the City Council of the City of Canton, Fulton
County, Illinois at a regular meeting this 18 day of Sen. mb.r ~
1987, upon a roll call vote as follows:
AYES: Aldermen Iiovachevich, Steck, Sarff , TZeade, Bohler, D?ay,
Chapman.
NAYS: None.
ABSENT: Alderman Zilly.
