ORDINANCE NO. 1159
AN ORDINANCE REZONING REAL PROPERTY LOCATED AT 1122 EAST
CHESTNUT STREET, CANTON, ILLINOIS, FROM R-2 TO B-1 ZONING
CONFIGURATION.
WHEREAS, the Planning and Zoning Commission of the City
of Canton has, after Notice and Hearing, recommended the
rezoning of property, on Petition of David W. and Mary Jane
Snider, generally located at the address of 1122 East Chestnut
Street, Canton, Illinois, and which is legally described
as follows:
Lot Numfer five (5) in C.H. Divilbiss Addition
to the City of Canton, Fulton County, Illinois
from R-2 (Single-Family Residential District) to B-1 (Local
Commercial District) under the Zoning Ordinance of this City;
and,
WHEREAS, this Council is now fully advised in the
premises; and,
WHEREAS, it is in the best interest of the City of Canton
to rezone said property from R-2 to B-1.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF
THE CITY OF CANTON, Fulton County, Illinois, as follows:
1. That the Canton City Council hereby finds the
foregoing recitals to be fact.
2. That the property above described be, and it hereby
is, rezoned from its present zoning configuration of R-2
(Single-Family Residential District) to the zoning
configuration of B-1 (Local Commercial District), under the
Zoning Ordinance of this City.
3. That the appropriate officials of this City mark
and make such changes on the Zoning Map of this City as may
be necessary to properly display the zoning change herein
Ordained and do such other acts as are customarily done to
reflect the zoning change.
4. That this Ordinance shall be in full force and effect
immediately upon its passage by the City Council of the City
of Canton, Fulton County, Illinois and approval by the Mayor
thereof .
PASSED by the City Council of the City of Canton, Fulton
County, Illinois at a regular meeting this 5th day of
Aug~s ,1987 upon a roll call vote as follows:
AYES: Aldermen Bohler, Meade, Sarff, Steck, Zilly,
Kovachevich.
NAYS: Aldermen Chapman, May.
ABSENT: None.
