HomeMy WebLinkAboutOrdinance #1156e . ORDINANCE N0. 1156 AN ORDINANCE AMENDING ORDINANCE NUMBER 959 ENTITLED, "AN ORDINANCE INITIATING AND COOPERATIVELY DESIGNATING AN ENTERPRISE ZONE". WHEREAS, on December 27, 1982, the City Council of the City of Canton, Fulton County, Illinois passed Ordinance No. 959 entitled, "An Ordinance Initiating and Cooperatively Designating an Enterprise Zone", providing metes and bounds description for the City of Canton/Fulton County Enterprise Zone; and, WHEREAS, the City of Canton has determined that it is necessary and in the best interest of the City of Canton and economic development in the Canton area to expand the City of Canton/Fulton County Enterprise Zone; and, WHEREAS, with the expansion of the enterprise zone, the new addition will receive all of the state and local amenities provided by the present enterprise zone; and, WHEREAS, a public hearing was held at 7:00 o'clock P.M. on Tuesday, July 21, 1987 in the Canton City Council Chambers where pertinent information was presented. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF CANTON, Fulton County, Illinois as follows: 1. That the City Council of the City of Canton hereby approves, subject to concurrence of the Fulton County Board and the Illinois Department of Commerce and Community Affairs, the expansion of the City of Canton/Fulton County: Enterprise Zone to include property identified in Exhibit "A" hereby incorporated by reference. 3. That the City of Canton, subject to the passage of a comparable ordinance by the Fulton County Board and subject to approval of the Illinois Department of Commerce and Community Affairs, hereby approves the new metes and bounds description for the enterprise zone as identified in Exhibit "B" hereto. 3. That the City of Canton will provide all local benefits and amenities in the expanded parcel as is currently being accorded to inhabitants of the City of Canton/Fulton County Enterprise Zone. 4. That this Ordinance shall be in fu71 force and effect immediately upon its passage by the City Council of the City of Canton, Fulton County, Illinois and approval by the Mayor thereof. PASSED by the City Council of the City of Canton, Fulton County, Illinois at a regular meeting this 5th day of August 1987, upon a roll call as follows: AYES: Aldermen Kovachevich, Zilly, Steck, Sarff, Meade, Bohler, May, Chapman.
