AN ORDINANCE ANNEXING EIGHTEEN TRACTS OF
REAL PROPERTY INTO THE CITY OF CANTON
M ~ { 1
WHEREAS, it appears necessary and in the best interest of the
City of Canton to annex the real property described in Exhibit A,
Tracts I thru XVIII, into the City of Canton; and,
WHEREAS, such annexations are authorized by ~7-1-13, Chapter
24, I11. Rev. Stat. 1985; and,
WHEREAS, said real property is contiguous to and surrounded by
the City of Canton; and,
WHEREAS, none of Tracts I thru XVIII identified in Exhibit A
contains more than 60 acres.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF CANTON, Fulton County, Illinois, as follows:
1. That the foregoing recitals are hereby found to be fact.
2. That the real property set forth in Exhibit A to this
Ordinance be, and the same hereby is, annexed into the City of
Canton.
3. That the City Clerk is directed to file a certified copy
of this Ordinance with each of the Fulton County Recorder and the
Fulton County Clerk.
4. That this Ordinance shall be in full force and effect
immediately upon its passage by the City Council of the City of
Canton, Fulton County, Illinois and approval by the Mayor thereof.
PASSED by the City Council of the City of Canton, Fulton
County, Illinois at a regular meeting this 16 day of June ,
1987 upon a roll call vote as follows:
AYES: Aldermen Chapman, May, Bohler, Meade, Sarff, Steck,
Zilly, Kovachevich.
NAYS: None.
ABSENT: None.
