ORDINANCE NO. 1225
AN ORDINANCE PROVIDING FOR A NO PARKING - LOADING ZONE
ON NORTH AVENDB A IN THE VICINITY OF WEST OLIVE STREET
WHEREAS, the Legal and Ordinance Committee of the Canton City
Council has determined that it is necessary and in the best
interest of the City of Canton to increase the size of a no
parking - loading zone on the East side of North Avenue A North of
its intersection with West Olive Street; and,
WHEREAS, the Canton City Council has made a similar deter-
urination.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF CANTON, FULTON COUNTY, ILLINOIS AS FOLLOWS:
1. That the Canton City Council hereby finds the foregoing
recitals to be fact.
2. That the East side of North Avenue A from the North curb
line of West Olive Street to a point 142 feet North of the North
curb line of West Olive Street is hereby designated a no parking -
loading zone from 7:00 o'clock A.M. to 5:00 o'clock P.M., local
time, Monday thru Friday of each calendar week, inclusive.
3. That no person shall park a vehicle or a motor vehicle
along the aforesaid curb line during the aforesaid hours unless
actually engaged in the loading or unloading of passangers and/or
cargo.
4. That parking in the aforesaid loading zone is permissible
on Saturday and Sunday of each week and from 5:00 o'clock P.M. to
7:00 o'clock A.M. on Monday thru Friday of each week.
5. That any person who violates any portion of this Ordinance
shall be subject to a fine of not less than $25.00 nor more than
$200.00 for each occurance.
6. That this Ordinance shall be in full force and effect 10
days after its passage by the City Council of the City of Canton,
Fulton County, Illinois, approval by the Mayor thereof, and
publication in pamphlet form as provided by law.
PASSED by the City Council of the City of Canton, Fulton
County, Illinois at a regular meeting this ~Oth day of
December , 1988, upon a roll call vote as follows:
AYES: Aldermen nay, Bohler, r~,~eade, Sarff, Steck,
Kovachevich.
NAYS: None.
ABSENT: Aldermen Chapman, Zilly.

The pamphlet form of the aforesaid Ordinance No. 1225 ,
including the Ordinance and a cover sheet thereof was prepared,
and a copy of such Ordinance was posted in the City Building,
210 E. Chestnut Street, Canton, Illinois, commencing on
December 23. 19 gg , and continuing for at least ten
(10) days thereafter. Copies of such Ordinance were also
available for public inspection upon request in the office
of the City Clerk.
