HomeMy WebLinkAboutOrdinance #1223 ORDINANCE NO. _~23 AN ORDINANCE PROVIDING THAT NORTH AVENUE A IN THE CITY OF CANTON, ILLINOIS SHALL BE A ONE WAY STREET FROM WEST LOCUST STREET TO WEST VINE STREET. WHEREAS, the Legal and Ordinance Committee of the City of Canton, Fulton County, Illinois has determined that it is necessary, desirable and in the best interest of the City of Canton to keep North Avenue A a one way street North bound from West Locust Street to West Vine Street; and, WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Canton, Fulton County, Illinois has made a similar determination. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF CANTON, Fulton County, Illinois, as follows: 1. That North Avenue A from the North curb line of West Locust Street to the South curb line of West Vine Street is hereby designated as a one way street. 2. That the Street Superintendent shall post appropriate signs and appropriate markings informing the public of the provision. 3. Any person who violates this Ordinance shall, upon conviction, be subject to a fine of not less than Twenty-Five ($25.00) nor more than Five Hundred Dollars ($500.00) for each such violation. 4. That this Ordinance shall be in full force and effect ten (10) days after its passage by the City Council of the City of Canton, Fulton County, Illinois, approval by the Mayor thereof, and publication in pamphlet form as provided by law. R' PASSED by the City Council of the City of Canton, Fulton County, Illinois at a regular meeting this 6th day of December , 1988, upon a roll call vote as follows: AYES: Aldermen Steck, Sarff, Meade, Bohler, May, Chapman.
