ORDINANCE NO. 1222
AN ORDINANCE RESCINDING ORDINANCES NO. 1131 AND 1132, BEING,
RESPECTIVELY, ORDINANCES PROVIDING FOR TWO WAY TRAFFIC ON
NORTH AVENUE A AND PROHIBITING PARKING ON BOTH SIDES OF
NORTH AVENUE A.
WHEREAS, the Legal and Ordinance Committee has
determined that it is necessary and in the best interest of
the City of Canton to rescind Ordinances No. 1131 and 1132
which Ordinances, respectively, provided that North Avenue A
be a two way street and which prohibited parking on both the
East and West sides of North Avenue A; and,
WHEREAS, the Canton City Council has made a similar
determination.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF
THE CITY OF CANTON, Fulton County, Illinois as follows:
1. That the Canton City Council hereby finds the
foregoing recitals to be fact.
2. That Ordinance No. 1131 passed by the Canton
City Council and approved by the Mayor on or
about February 3, 1987 is hereby rescinded in
its entirety.
3. That Ordinance No. 1132 passed by the Canton
City Council and approved by the Mayor on or
about February 17, 1987 is hereby rescinded in
its entirety.
4. That this Ordinance shall be in full force and
effect immediately upon its passage by the
City Council of the City of Canton, Fulton
County, Illinois and approval by the Mayor
thereof.
PASSED by the City Council of the City of Canton, Fulton
County, Illinois at a regular meeting this 6th day of

AYES: Aldermen Chapman, May, Bohler, Meade, Sarff, Steck.
NAYS: None.
ABSENT: Aldermen Zlly, Kovachevich.
