I, Diana Pavley-Rock, certify that I am the duly elected City Clerk of
the CITY OF CANTON, FULTON COUNTY, ILLINOIS.
I further certify that on JULY 16, 2019 , the City Council of such
municipality passed and approved Ordinance No 4152 entitled:
AN ORDINANCE AMENDING PROVISIONS 3-7-6 RELATIVE TO SMOKING IN THE
CITY OF CANTON ILLINOIS
which proved-by its terms that it should be published in pamphlet form.
The pamphlet for Ordinance No. 4152 including the Ordinance and a cover
sheet thereof, was prepared, and a copy of such Ordinance was posted at City Hall,
2 North Main Street Canton IL, commencing on JULY 16, 2019 , and continuing for
at least ten days thereafter. Copies of such Ordinance were also available for public
inspection upon request in the Office of the City Clerk.

ORDINANCE NO. 4152
AN ORDINANCE AMENDING PROVISION 3-7-6 RELATIVE TO SMOKING IN THE
CITY OF CANTON,ILLINOIS
WHEREAS, pursuant to the Municipal Code and the City of Canton Code, the City of
Canton has the authority to regulate the use and sale of tobacco involving minors and those of legal
age within its municipal boundaries; and
WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Canton has determined that an update and
amendment is required to be made pursuant to Provision 3-7-6 due to the legal age being changed
to the age of twenty-one.
NOW, THEREFORE,BE IT ORDAINED,by the City Council for the City of Canton,
Fulton County,Illinois, as follows
SECTION 1: Ordinance 3-7-6 shall now provide as follows:
"3-7-6: SALE OF TOBACCO AND POSSESSION OF TOBACCO INVOLVING
MINORS:
No person, either as principal, clerk or agent, shall sell, buy for or give away, either directly or
indirectly, any cigarette, electronic cigarette, cigar or tobacco (including smokeless tobacco), in
any form, to any minor person under the age of twenty-one (21) years, within the City.
Additionally, it shall be unlawful for any minor person under the age of twenty-one (2 1) years,
within the City limits, to possess any cigarette, electronic cigarette, cigar or tobacco (including
smokeless.tobacco) or tobacco in any of its forms."
SECTION 2—That upon passage of this amendment,the City Clerk shall be instructed to
submit to the Codifiers or Municipal Ordinance the said Ordinance amendment for insertion in its
proper place and each copy of this Code within thirty (30) days of its final passage.
PASSED by the City Council of the City of Canton, Fulton County, Illinois at a regular
meeting this 16th day of July, 2019 upon a roll call vote as follows:
