HomeMy WebLinkAboutOrdinance #1253 ORDINANCE N0. 1253 For a Special Use Permit for a Home for the Aged at the property located at 73-79 North 3rd Canton, Illinois WHEREAS, it appears to the City Council of the City of Canton, Illinois, that the territory hereinafter described is located within the corporate limits of the City of Canton, said premises being generally located at the Southeast corner of the intersection of North Third and East Chestnut Street in the City of Canton, Fulton County, State of Illinois; and, WHEREAS, it further appearing to said City Council that a Petition for Special Use Permit was duly filed and due and proper notice thereof was published in the Canton Daily Ledger, a secular newspaper having a general circulation in the City of Canton, County of Fulton and State of Illinois, said notice being made and published according to the statutes of the State of Illinois and the ordinances of the City of Canton, Illinois; and, WHEREAS, a public hearing was held before the Planning & Zoning Commission of the City of Canton, Illinois, on the 10th day of July, 1989, concerning the request of DONNA COOK and KENNETH V. LOVELAND and IVA C. LOVELAND to receive a Special Use Permit for a home for the aged in the R-4 zoning configuration in the hereinafter described real estate; and, WHEREAS, it further appearing to said City Council that the Planning & Zoning Commission has reviewed the request of DONNA COOK and KENNETH V. LOVELAND and IVA C. LOVELAND according to law and that the Planning & Zoning Commission has filed its written recommendation with the said City Council recommending that the property hereinafter described be granted a Special Use Permit for a home for the aged within the R-4 zoning configuration. THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF CANTON, ILLINOIS: SECTION 1. That the territory hereinafter described be, and the same is hereby allowed a Special Use Permit for a home for the aged within the R-4 zoning district, said premises being more particularly described as follows, to-wit: Lot 33 and 14 feet off the West side of Lot 34, all in BARNES and JONES ADDITION to the city of Canton, being located in a part of the Southeast Quarter of Section 27, Township 7 North, Range 4 East of the Fourth Principal Meridian, county of Fulton, state of Illinois. SECTION 2. That the City of Canton zoning maps, documents and related regulations be, and the same are hereby amended so that the territory hereinabove described shall be, and the same is hereby made an R-4 zoning configuration according to the statutes of the State of Illinois and the ordinances of the City of Canton, Illinois. SECTION 3. That this ordinance shall be in effect from and after a majority vote of the City Council of the City of Canton, Illinois, and approval by the mayor thereof.
