HomeMy WebLinkAboutOrdinance #1250~ A -~. 0~2DINANCE NO. 12 5 0 Aid OiRDINAidCE AM~IDING ORDIldANCE NO. 1231 WIHEREAS, the Canton City Council has determined that it is necessary and in the best interest of the City of Canton to amend Ordinance No. 1231 as hereinafter set forth. NOW, THERI~ORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY ~ CANTON, Fulton County, Illinois, as follows: 1. That the Canton City Council hereby finds the foregoing recitals to be fact. 2. That, to the extent inconsistent herewith, Ordinance No. 1231 is hereby amended as follows: A. Implementation of Stage 3, Mandatory Compliance - Water Warning, shall be implemented and fully enforced commencing at 7:00 o'clock a.m. local time on Thursday, July 6, 1989. B. That as of 7;00 o'clock a.m. local time on Thursday, July 6, 1989, the bulk purchases of water supplied by or through the City of Canton shall be limited to an aggregate of 250 gallons per day per household. Further, that the price to be charged for each unit of bulk sales, or portion thereof, shall be three times the normal cost. C. Except for existing sanitation uses at Lake Canton, no water shall be taken by any person directly from Lake Canton or from any other municipal water source. That a violation of this subsection shall be subject to the penalty provided by Section 8-10.1-1 4 of Ordinance No. 1 231 . D. That effective as of 7:00 o'clock a.m. local time on Thursday, July 6, 1989, each City water account shall be allowed 400 cubic feet (2992 gallons) of water per billing period (every two months) which shall not be subject to the rationing requirements of Stages 3 and 4 of Ordinance No. 1231. E. That the Mayor may, by Executive Order, establish other and/or further rules and regulations as may by the Mayor seem reasonably necessary to the implementation of Ordinance No. 1231 and to the implementation of this Ordinance. Specifically, Executive Order No. 89-01 issued on or about June 28, 1989 is hereby approved by the Canton City Council. 3. That, pursuant to Section 1-2-4, Ch. 24, I11. Rev. Stat. this Ordinance and each and every provision hereof, due to the urgency of implementing the mandatory water conservation provisions of Ordinance No. 1231 and of this ordinance, shall take effect immediately upon its passage by a vote of 2/3 of the Corporate authorities of the City of Canton, Fulton County, Illinois and approval by the Mayor thereof. 4. That, except as above provided, this Ordinance shall be published in pamphlet form as provided by law. PASSED by the City Council of the City of Canton, Fulton County, Illinois at a regular meeting this 5th day of July, 1989. AYES: Aldermen Chapman, May, Meade, Sarff, Steck, Zilly, Kovachevich.
