HomeMy WebLinkAboutOrdinance #1237 Tom Skuse ORDINANCE NO. 1237 REZONING CERTAIN PROPERTY LOCATED NORTH OF SYCAMORE AND 16TH AVENUE. WHEREAS, it appears to the City of Canton, Illinois, that the territory is located within the corporate limits c said premises being generally located and 16th Avenue in the City of Canton, of Illinois; and, Council of the City hereinafter described ~f the City of Canton, at North of Sycamore Fulton County, State WHEREAS, it further appearing to said City Council that a Petition for Rezoning was duly filed and due and proper notice thereof was published in the Canton Daily Ledger, a secular newspaper having a general circulation in the City of Canton, County of Fulton and State of Illinois, said notice being made and published according to the statutes of the State of Illinois and the ordinances of the City of Canton, Illinois; and, WHEREAS, a public hearing was & Zoning Commission of the City the 13th day of March, 1989, cc Thomas G. and Linda Skuse, to described real estate from CO-1 zoning configuration to a R-2 configuration; and, held before the Planning of Canton, Illinois, on ~ncerning the request of rezone the hereinafter (Conservation District) (Single-Family) zoning WHEREAS, it further appearing to said City Council that the Planning & Zoning Commission has reviewed the request of Thomas G. and Linda Skuse according to law and that the Planning & Zoning Commission has filed its written recommendation with the said City Council recommending that the property hereinafter described be rezoned to a R-2 zoning configuration; THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF CANTON, ILLINOIS: SECTION 1. That the territory hereinafter, described be, and the same is hereby rezoned from an CO-I zoning configuration to a R-2 zoning configuration, said premises being more particularly described as follows, to-wit: A part of the Northwest Quarter of Section 25, Township 7 North, Range 4 East of the Fourth Principal Meridian, Fulton County, Illinois, described as follows and bearings...refer to the Illinois State Plane Coordinate System, West Zone: Commencing at the Northwest Corner of said Section 25; thence along the West line of said ~_ Section 25 bearing South 1`19'42" West, a distance of 290.45 feet to the ACTUAL POINT OF BEGINNING; thence bearing North 43°25'12" East, a distance of 391.61 feet; thence bearing South 89`55'50" East, a distance of 31.32 feet; thence bearing South 1~ 19'42" West, a distance of 859.93 feet to the inter- section of the North line of Village Square Sub- division Section Two and the centerline of 16th Avenue; thence along said North line bearing South 71°54'13" West, a distance of 148.12 feet; thence continuing along said North line bearing South 89`37'12" West, a distance of 141.64 feet to the Northwest Corner of Lot 53 in said Village Square Subdivision Section Two; thence bearing South O° 22'48" East, a distance of 100.01 feet to the Southwest Corner of said Lot 53; thence along the North line of Sycamore Street bearing South 89° 37'12" West, a distance of 15.54 feet to said West line; thence along said West line bearing North 1°19'42" East, a distance of 722.54 feet to the Point of Beginning; containing 5.214 acres. SECTION 2. That the City of Canton zoning maps, documents and related regulations be, and the same are hereby amended so that the territory hereinabove described shall be, and the same is hereby made a R-2 zoning configuration according to the statutes of the State of Illinois and the ordinances of the City of Canton, Illinois. SECTION 3. That this ordinance shall be in effect from and after a majority vote of the City Council of the City of Canton, Illinois, and approval by the Mayor thereof. PASSED by a majority vote of the City Council of the City of Canton, Illinois, and approval by the mayor thereof this 5th day of April 1989, upon a roll call vote as follows: AYES: Aldermen Zilly, Steck, Sarff, Meade, Bohler, May, Chapman.
