AN ORDINANCE AMENDING TITLE 1, CHAPTER 6, SECTION 3 OF THE CANTON
MUNICIPAL CODE RELATING TO REGULAR CITY COIINCIL MEETINGS
WHEREAS, the Legal and Ordinance Committee has determined
that it is necessary and in the best interest of the City of
Canton to amend Title 1, Chapter b, Section 3 of the Canton
Municipal Code as hereinafter set forth; and,
WHEREAS, the Canton City Council has made a similar
determination.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE
CITY OF CANTON, Fulton County, Illinois, as follows:
1. That the Canton City Council hereby finds the foregoing
recitals to be fact.
2. That Title 1, Chapter 6, Section 3 of the Canton
Municipal Code is hereby amended to read as follows:
"1-6-3: REGULAR MEETINGS: The regular meetings of the
Council shall be held in the Council Chamber of the
City Hall on the first and third Tuesday of each and every month
at six thirty o'clock (b:30) P.M. Adjourned meetings may be held
for the purpose of completing the unfinished business of the
regular meeting at such time or times as may be determined by the
Council; provided, however, that regular reports of officers of
the City shall be presented at the first meeting in each month and
claims against the City shall be presented at the second meeting
in each month. Should the regular meeting fall on a Public
Holiday such regular meeting may, at the discretion of the Canton
City Council, be held on the following day at the stated time.
Additionally, should a regular meeting fall on an election day the
meeting shall, if required by State Law, be held on the following
day at the stated time."
3. That this ordinance shall be in full force and effect
immediately upon its passage by the City Council of the City of
Canton, Fulton County, Illinois and approval by the I~~iayor thereof.
PASSED by the City Council of the City of Canton, Fulton
County, Illinois at a regular meeting this 20th. day of
November , 1990 upon a roll call vote as follows:
AYES• Aldermen Kovachevich, Fuller, Steck, Sarff, Meade,
• Bohler, May, Chapman.
NAYS: None.
