ORDINANCE NO. 1293
AN ORDINANCE AMENDIN3 TITLE 3, CHAPTER 8, SECTION 11 AND
ESTABLISHIN3 TITLE 3, CHAPTER 8, SECTION 20.8 OF THE CANTON
MUNICIPAL CODE.
WI-EREAS, the Legal and Ordinance Committee has determined
that it is in the best interest of the City of Canton that Title
3, Chapter 8, Section 11 of the Canton Municipal Code be changed
or amended, and Title 3, Chapter 8, Section 20.8 be established;
and,
V1~-EREAS, the Canton City Council has made a similar
determination.
NC7~V, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY OOUNCIL OF THE
CITY OF CANTON, Fulton County, Illinois as follows:
1. That the Canton City Council hereby finds the foregoing
recitals to be fact.
2. That the present Title 3, Chapter 8, Section 11 of the
Canton Municipal Code is hereby amended to read as follows:
"3-8-11: LICENSE RESTRICTIONS
Class A, Tavern Licenses, shall be restricted to ten (10) licenses
in the City.
Class E, Package Store Licenses, shall be restricted to three (3)
licenses in the City."
3. That Title 3, Chapter 8, Section 20.8 of the Canton
Municipal Code is hereby established to read as follows:
"3-8-20.8: AGE OF EMPLOYEES.
Bartenders in licensed establishments shall be not less than 21
(twenty-one) years of age. Persons serving drinks (waiters,
waitresses) in Class A establishments shall be not less than 18
(eighteen) years of age; persons serving drinks in all other
licensed establishments shall be not less than 16 (sixteen) years
of age."
4. That this Ordinance shall be in full force and effect ten
(10) days after its passage by the City Council of the City of
Canton, Fulton County, Illinois, approval by the Mayor thereof,
and publication in pamphlet form as provided by law.
PASSED by the City Council of the City of Canton, Fulton
County, Illinois at a regular meeting this 7th. day of
November , 1990, upon a roll call vote as follows:
AYES: Aldermen Chapman, May, 1"Ieade, Sarf,~, Steck, Fuller.
NAYS: None.
ABSENT: Aldermen Bohler, Kovachevich.
