SECTION ~.10 .
W-EJ~EAS, the Legal and Ordinance Committee has determined
that it is necessary and in the best interest of the City of
Canton to codify Chapter 95 1/2, Illinois Revised Statutes, as
part of the Canton Municipal Code; and,
Ham, the Canton City Council has made a similar
determination.
NC7JV, TFEREFORE , BE 1 T Of~QA I NED BY THE CITY OOIaVC 1 L OF THE
CITY OF CANTON, Fulton County, Illinois, as follows:
1. That the Canton City Council hereby finds the foregoing
recitals to be fact.
2. That those portions of Chapter 95 1/2, Illinois Revised
Statutes punishable by fine only are hereby codified as part of
the Canton Municipal Code as Title 9, Chapter 10, Section 1-9.
3. That punishments for violations of said municipal
codification shall be as from time to time set forth in said
Chapter 95 1/2.
4. That in charging a violation of said codification, it
shall be sufficient to make reference to the applicable section
and title of Chapter 95 1/2 with a designation of local ordinance,
e.g.: "L.O. 95 1/2, Section 11-501, driving while under the
influence of alcohol".
5. That this Ordinance shall be in full force and effect ten
(10) days after its passage by the City Council of the City of
Canton, Fulton County, Illinois, approval by the Mayor thereof,
and publications in pamphlet form as provided by law.
PASSED by the City Council of the City of Canton, Fulton
County, Illinois at a regular meeting this 19th day of
June 1990, upon a roll call vote as follows:
