AN ORDINANCE ANNEXING CERTAIN TERRITORY TO THE CITY OF
CANTON, FULTON COUNTY, ILLINOIS OF RUSSELL AND MARY BALDWIN
OF RURAL ROUTE FOUR, ALDER STREET, CANTON,ILLINOIS.
WHEREAS, a petition was filed with the City Clerk
for the annexation of the real property described below,
and said real property is not within the corporate limits
of any municipality, but is contiguous to the City of Canton,
Illinois,
THAT PART OF THE SOUTHEAST QUARTER OF
SECTION 10, TOWNSHIP 7 NORTH, RANGE 4
EAST OF THE FOURTH PRINCIPAL MERIDIAN,
BEING FURTHER DESCRIBED AS FOLLOWS:
Commencing at a point on the South line
of said Section 10, 347 feet West of
the Southeast corner of said Section
10, the point of beginning; thence
north 25.5 feet to a stone; thence
Northerly along a fence line to an
iron pipe, 299.57 feet; thence East
along a fence line 105 feet; thence
Southerly 298.6 feet to an iron pipe;
thence continuing Southerly 25 feet
to the point on the South line of
said Section 10, 242 feet West of the
.Southeast Quarter of Section 10; thence
along said South line 105 feet to the
point of beginning .
WHEREAS, a public hearing on said petition was conducted
by the Planning & Zoning Commission of the City of Canton
on May 14, 1990 pursuant to proper notice having been
published in the Daily Ledger,
WHEREAS, on May 14, 1990 the Planning & Zoning
Commission recommended to the City Council that the real
property described in the exhibit attached hereto be annexed
to the City of Canton pursuant to Chapter 24 of the Illinois
Revised State Statutes,
WHEREAS, it is in the best interests of the City of
Canton, Illinois that said real property be annexed to
the City of Canton.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL
OF THE CITY OF CANTON,ILLINOIS:
1. That the City Council finds as facts the assertions
set forth above.
2. That the described real property be and is hereby
annexed to the City of Canton, Illinois.
3. That the described real property be and is hereby
rezoned I-1, Light Industrial.
4. That the zoning Administrator is directed to make
the appropriate changes to the zoning maps of the City
of Canton to show this annexation and zoning.
5. That the City Clerk is directed to record with
the Recorder of Deeds of Fulton County and to file with
the County Clerk of Fulton County a certified copy of this
ordinance together with an accurate map of the annexed
territory.
6. That this ordinance shall be in full force and
effect upon its passage by the City Council of the City
of Canton and approval by its Mayor.
PASSED by the City Council of the City of Canton,
Fulton County, Illinois at a regular meeting this 5th
day of June , 1990, upon a roll call vote as follows:
AYES: Aldermen Chapman, May, Bohler, Meade, Sarff,
Steck, Fuller, Kovachevich.
NAYS: None.
ABSENT: None.
