AN ORDINANCE PROHIBITING PARgING ON THE EAST AND WEST SIDE OF
AORTH 16TH AVENQE FROM THE NORTH RIGHT OF WAY LINE OF EAST
CHESTNIIT STREET TO THE SOUTH RIGHT OF WAY LIFE OF EAST ASH STREET
WHEREAS, the Legal and Ordinance Committee of the Canton
City Council has determined it is necessary, desirable and in the
best interest of the City of Canton to eliminate parking on the
East and West side of North 16th Avenue from the North right of
way line of East Chestnut Street to the South right of way line of
East Ash Street; and,
WHEREAS, the Canton City Council has made a similar
determination.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE
CITY OF CANTON, Fulton County, Illinois, as follows:
1. That the foregoing recitals are hereby found to be fact.
2. That parking is hereby eliminated and prohibited on the
East and West side of North 16th Avenue from the North
right-of-way line of East Chestnut Street to the South
right-of-way line of East Ash Street.
3. That all ordinances, or, portions of ordinances in
conflict with this ordinance are hereby rescinded and repealed.
l,.. That this Ordinance shall be in full force and effect
ten (10) days after its passage by the City Council of the City of
Canton, Fulton County, Illinois, approval by the Mayor thereof,
and publication in pamphlet form as provided by law.
5. That the Street Superintendent shall cause appropriate
signs to be posted.
PASSED by the City Council of the City of Canton, Fulton
County, Illinois at a regular meeting this 15th day of
ckrnhPr , 1991 upon a roll call vote as follows:
AYES: Aldermen Molleck, Coay, Sarff, Steck, Bohler, Barnett, May.
NAYS: None.
ABSENT: Alderman Meade.
