EFFECTIVE: MARCH 5, 2019 ORDINANCE NO. 4131 CITY OF CANTON, ILLINOIS AN ORDINANCE AUTHORIZING THE SALE OF CERTAIN PERSONAL PROPERTY OWNED BY THE CITY OF CANTON ILLINOIS Page 2 Ordinance No. 4131 An Ordinance Authorizing The Sale of Certain Personal Property Owned by the City if Canton,Illinois WHEREAS, pursuant to the Illinois Municipal Code (65 ILCS 5/11-76-4) the City of Canton has the ability to sell personal property that has been deemed no longer necessary or useful to, or for the best interests of the City; WHEREAS, the City currently owns a 1996 Pierce Dash motor vehicle, VIN# 4PICT02UXTA000565 with mileage totaling 108,267; WHEREAS, the City hereby finds this vehicle to be no longer necessary or useful to, or for the best interests of the City and wishes to place the vehicle for sale. THEREFORE: BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF CANTON, FULTON COUNTY, ILLINOIS, AS FOLLOWS: Section 1: The foregoing recitals are incorporated herein as findings of the City Council of the City of Canton; Section 2: Pursuant to 65 ILCS 5/11-76-4 of the Illinois Municipal Code, the City Council finds that the vehicle described above, now owned by the City, to be no longer necessary or useful to, or for the best interests of the City; Section 3: Pursuant to said section 5/11-76-4, Public Safety Director, Richard Fairburn, be, and he is hereby, authorized and directed to sell the vehicle without having to advertise for sale. The City shall accept any terms for purchase of the vehicle they deem in the best interests of the City; Section 4: This Ordinance shall be in full force and effect from and after its passage and adoption. Passed by the City Council of the City of Canton, Fulton County, Illinois, at a regular meeting this 5TH day of March, 2019 upon a roll call vote as follows: AYES: Aldermen Ryan Mayhew, Justin Nelson, John Lovell, Craig West, Angela Hale, Tad Putrich,Angela Lingenfelter, Quin Mayhew NAYS: None ABSENT: None.
