A RB~SOLIITION OPPOSING CHANGES TO THE 1~DICAL BII(EFITS FOR RETIRED
INTERNATIONAL HARVESTER AND NAVISTAR CITIZENS
WHEREAS, the City of Canton has several retired
International Harvester and Navistar employees; and,
WHEREAS, Navistar Corporation is attempting to reduce
medical benefits and increase contributions for medical benefits
for their retired employees; and,
WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Canton opposes such
changes.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE
CITY OF CANTON, Fulton County, Illinois as follows:
1. That the City Council of the City of Canton opposes such
changes to the medical benefits for their retired International
Harvester and Navistar employees.
2. That a copy of this Resolution be sent to the United
Auto Workers Union and to Navistar Corporation.
3. That this Resolution shall be in full force and effect
immediately upon its passage by the City Council of the City of
Canton, Fulton County, Illinois this 4th day of August, 1992•
AYES: Aldermen May, Chapman, Bohlen, Steck, Sarff, Coay, Molleck.
NAYS: None.
ABSENT: Alderman Meade.
