W-~S, the Canton City Council passed Resolution No. 2004, entitled "A Resolution Of Support For the Proposed Chicago-Kansas City Expressway" on July 7, 1987; and, VIFt~S, the Community and Industrial Development Committee has determined that it is necessary and in the best interest of the City of Canton as well as all of West Central Illinois to re-affirm their support for the proposed expressway; and, W-EREAS, it has been deterrined that there exist alternate corridors which could feasibly be developed for this freeway; and, W-fEREAS, an objective analysis of all possible feasible alternatives for a limited access freeway is required to identify corridors that will provide the most efficient and effective service to the immediate areas. The development of more than one corridor is considered to be necessary as a long range goal of the region; and, W-E)i~EAS, the Canton City Counc i I has made a s imi I ar determination. That the City Council of the City of Canton, Illinois supports the proposed Chicago-Kansas City Expressway. 2. That the City Council re-affirms Resolution No. 2004 entitled "A Resolution Of Support For The Proposed Chicago-Kansas City Expressway", passed July 7, 1987. 3. The City of Canton supports the first phase of the plan which consists of a comprehensive analysis, including environmental studies of all possible alternatives for a limited access f ree~vay to commence i n f i sca I year 1993. 4. The City of Canton supports the second phase of the project which consists of the design/development of a plan for the construction of a limited access freeway and the determination of the costs associated with said construction. 5. The City of Canton suggests that Phase I of the plan conmence in fiscal year 1993, with the completion of Phase I and Phase II to be completed within an eighteen (18) month time frame. 6. That this resolution shall be in full force and effect irmiediately upon its passage by the City Council of the City of Canton, Fulton County, Illinois and approval by the Mayor thereof.
