RE: East Chestnut Street Project
D14TE: August 9, 1993
Please be informed that the East Chestnut Street project is
progressing on schedule, if not ahead of schedule. McClure
Engineering has informed me that they have reached 78°k of their
total engineering fee and feel that there may possibly be an extra
in engineering costs of approximately $5,000 to $10,000, I am
informing you of this so that if we do run over, you will be able to
pass a resolution for MFT funds to be expended for this purpose.
All storm sewer is now in place except for the south side of
Chestnut Street between 1st and 2nd Avenues. Ail curb and gutter
should be in place by Friday, August 13, except for the above
mentioned area. I am pushing to pour drives and walks from 8th
Avenue to 2nd Avenue prior to disturbing the businesses between 1st
and 2nd Avenues.

Dear Mayor Edwards:
As I have previously discussed with Ms. Skaggs, we anticipate that
the Not To Exceed contract amount as shown in our contract with the
City of Canton will be exceeded. The original amount of the
contract is 645,000. We propose to extend the contract Not To
Exceed amount to 650,000.
The main factor which affected our original budget was due to the
need of a MEAI technician for full time construction observation
for several weeks this past summer. Ms. Skaggs had requested this
due to the need for her full time attention on other matters.
Please find enclosed four copies of the Addendum ~2 to Construction
Engineering Services Agreement for Motor Fuel Tax Funds for your
execution. The addendum will require IDOT concurrence.
Should you have any questions, please do not hesitate to call this
office.
