W-EFiEAS, the Illinois Department of Commerce and Community
Affairs (DOCA), under the Community Development Assistance Program
(CD4P) has awarded the City of Canton a grant of $163,500 (Grant
#92-24216); and,
W-EJ~Ei4S, the Illinois Department of Commerce and Community
Affairs (DCCA) requires the passage of a resolution by the Canton
City Council providing for a firm commitment of local funds in the
amount of $55,000 for this project in order to receive this
Community Development Assistance Program (CRAP) grant; and,
VYFfJ~FAS, the City of Canton, Illinois is desirous of
receiving the CDIAP grant for the amount of $163,500.

CITY OF G4NTOW, Fulton County, Illinois as follows:
1. That the city commit $55,000 of local funds for this
project.
2. That the Mayor and City of Canton comply with all
conditions necessary to receive the CDAP grant for $163,500.00.
3. That the Mayor and City Clerk on behalf of the City of
Canton execute and deliver such documents necessary to receive
said grant.
4. That the Mayor and City Clerk are authorized to provide
such additional information as may be required to accomplish the
obtaining of such grant.
5. That the City of Canton, Illinois hereby commits itself
to the amount of $55,000 in leveraging funds. Such funds shall be
from water and sewer funds. Such commitment is hereby conditional
upon the city's receipt of the contemplated CD,4P grant funds.
6. That this Resolution shall be in full force and effect
immediately upon its passage by the City Council of the City of
Canton, Fulton County, Illinois and approval by the Mayor thereof.
PASSED by the City Council of the City of Canton, Fulton
County, Illinois at a regular meeting this 18th day of May 1993,
upon a roll call vote as follows:
AYES: Aldermen Chapman, Bohl,er, Meade, Saxf~, Pha:ll~,ps, Coaye
NAYS: None.
