RESOLUTION NO. 3813
A RESOLUTION APPROVING THE 2007 EMERGENCY OPERATIONS PLAN FOR
THE CITY OF CANTON, ILLINOIS AND AUTHORIZING AND DIRECTING THE
MAYOR AND CITY CLERK OF THE CITY OF CANTON TO EXECUTE SAID PLAN
ON BEHALF OF THE CITY OF CANTON
WHEREAS, the purpose of the 2007 City of Canton Emergency Operations Plan was to
set forth a means for management and orderly operations within the City of Canton during a
major event or disaster which might occur. During a major event or disaster, routine operations
and resources may be severely strained or overwhelmed. The Emergency Operations Plan
provides for the response by various departments and agencies that may be impacted and/or
respond to the incident or disaster.
WHEREAS, the Plan was adopted by the Canton City Council on March 6, 2007 subject
to approval by the requisite county and state agencies; and
WHEREAS, all other requisite governing bodies have now approved the Plan;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE MAYOR AND CITY COUNCIL
OF THE CITY OF CANTON, ILLINOIS, AS FOLLOWS:
1. That the 2007 Emergency Operations Plan for the City of Canton is hereby approved in
the form approved by the City of Canton and other necessary governing agencies.
2. That the Mayor and the City Clerk of the City of Canton, Illinois are hereby authorized
and directed to execute said Emergency Operations Plan on behalf of the City of Canton.
3. That this Resolution shall be in full force and effect immediately upon its passage by the
City Council of the City of Canton, Illinois and approval by the Mayor thereof.
PASSED by the City Council of the City of Canton, Illinois at a regular meeting this 19th
day of June , 2007 upon a roll call vote as follows:
AYES: No roll call taken, voice vote and was unanimous.
NAYS:
ABSENT: Aldermen Carl, Lewis.
