A RESOLUTION AMENDING RESOLUTION N0. 3226 PERTAINING TO CERTAIN
INVOLUNTARY EMPLOYER PAID CONTRIBUTIONS TO THE FIREMEN'S PENSION
FUND
WHEREAS, on May 3, 1994 the Council of the City of Canton
adopted Resolution No. 3226 pertaining to the pickup by the City
of employee contributions to the firemen's Pension Fund, and
WHEREAS, said resolution did not contain the statutory
provision for withholding of State and Federal taxes,
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE
CITY OF CANTON, Fulton County, Illinois as follows:
1. That Resolution No. 3226 shall be amended by the
addition of of paragraph 2a as follows:
"2a. The City shall continue to withhold Federal and
State income taxes based on the contributions until the
Internal Revenue Service or the Federal Courts rule that
these contributions shall not be included as gross
income of the firefighters until such time as they are
distributed or made available."
PASSED by -the City Council of the City of Canton, Fulton
County, Illinois this 7th day of June, 1994, upon a roll call
vote as follows
AYES: Aldermen Chapman, May, Sarff, Phillips, NfQlleck, Coay,
NAYS: None.
ABSENT: A7-dern~en ~~, Bohler.
