Canton, County of Fulton, and State of Illinois, hereby certify

ution adopted by the City Council of said City at a meeting on
the 20th day of August, A. D. 1940.

RESOLUTION
WHEREAS, the State Highway Department of the Department of Public
Works and Buildings of the State of Illinois, is desirous of construct-
ing a Concrete Pavement known as "State Bond Issue Route No. 78, Section
135-X", between Linn Street and the Corporate Limits on South Fifth Ave-
- nue in the City of Canton, Illinois; and whereas, it is the desire of
the said City of Canton to cooperate with the said department in said
construction by securing the necessary right-of-way or easements for
said construction,
THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF CANTON,
ILLINOIS; That the sum of twenty-five hundred dollars or so much there-
of as may be required of the Motor Fuel Tax Funds allocated to said City
be and the same hereby is appropriated for the acquisition of said right-
of-way; said sum or so much thereof as may be necessary to be paid as
and for the purchase price of said right-of-way, and for no other pur-
pose.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that a certified. statement covering any and
all expenditures under this appropriation shall be submitted to the Depart-
ment of Public Works and Buildings, Division of Highways, as soon as pract-
icable after the consumation of said purchase.
BE IT FURTHER. RESOLVED, that the City Clerk shall immediately trans-
mit two certified copies of this resolution to the Department of Public
Works and Buildings, Division of Highways, through its District Office at
Peoria, Illinois.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that the City Clerk be and she hereby is auth-
orized to make requisition for said sums and to transmit said requisition
together with this resolution to said department.
