WHEREAS, the program of improvement to the Waterworks and Sewage
Treatment Systems of the City of Canton are nearing successful com-
pletion; and whereas, such program is of great importance and interest
to the citizens of the City of Canton, and it is the thought that it
would be but fitting and proper to properly dedicate said improvements
to the future use of the city and to properly show appreciation to the
Works Progress Administration of the Federal Government for its part
in said program as well as to those individuals whose interest and
cooperation were partly responsible for s:id improvements;
THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF CANTON,
ILLINOIS:
That the Mayor and the City Council of the City of Canton be and
they are hereby designated a committee to arrange for a proper public
dedication of the Waterworks Improvement and the Sewage Treatment Plant;
and said committee is hereby authorized to take such procedure and make
any and all arrangements for the proper dedication thereof.
Passed by the City Council and Approved by the mayor this 6th day
of February, A. D. 1940.
