WHEREAS, Attention has been brought before this
Council that an application has been filed with
the Illinois Commerce Commission by the White Star
Meta' Coach Lines of Illinois asking for a certificate
of convenience and necessity to carry passengers and
express between Peoria, Illinois and Canton, Illinois ,
through Farmington, Illinois , and
HEMEAS. The White Star Motor Coach Lines, through an
agreement with the Santa Fe Bus Company, operated this
route several years ago and gave satisfactory and
adequate service., and
WHEREAS, The present service from Canton, Illinois to
Farmington, Illinois and Peoria, Illinois and inter-
mediate points is inadequate , and
WHEREAS, The proposed service would afford service to
the many students attending Bradley Polytechnic
Institute at Peoria, Illinois ,
THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED, That this Council go on
record that the White Star Motor Coach Lines of Illinois
be granted a certificate of convenience and necessity
to operate its motor busses between Canton, Illinois
and Peoria, Illinois through Farmington, Illinois for
the transportation of passengers and express and do
furtherdirect thia resolution to the Illinois Commerce
Commission and respectfully request in the particular
interest of the City of Canton that the honorable
Commission grant , without delay, to White Star Motor
Coach Lines permission to operate its motor busses
over and upon the public highway leading from Canton
to ' Farmington and Peoria, Illinois.
Passed by Canton City Council this 3 day of
January, 1939.
