February 15, 1938
WHEREAS, the City of Canton, Illinois is in need of a new
source of water supply for domestic and industrial use, and for
fire protection, and
WHEREAS, the Works Progress Administration of the United States
of America is empowered to aid in the construction of such an im--
provement, if approved,
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE MAYOR AND CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
CANTON, ILLINOIS:
That Mayor J, Grant Davis be, and he hereby is, authorized to
execute and file an application on behalf of the City of Canton to
the Works Progress Administration of the United States of America
for aid in the construction of waterworks improvements, including
supply, treatment plant and other necessary work.
