HomeMy WebLinkAboutResolution #161 RESOLUTION ?i(,o 14 BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF CANTON, ILLINOIS: That Tuesday, December 13, 1949, be and the same is hereby designated as the date for a special election in said City of Canton, for the purpose of electing, one Alderman in the Sixth Ward to fill a vacancy caused by resignation. The polls of said Special election will be open in said ward at six o' clock in the morning and continue until five o'clock in the afternoon of *akt same day. Polling place and judges and clerks of said special election have been designated as follows: Sixth Ward: Anderson School, 200 Blcok South Seventh Avenue. Judges: Clerks : Petitions' for nomination requires at least 5% and not to exceed 8% of vote cast at the next preceding general election. Petitions are to be filed with the City Clerk by Nov. $, 1949. BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the City Clerk of the City of Canton is hereby authorized and directed to give such notice and to do and perform all other acts necessary to provide for the holding of said special election in manner and form as prescribed by law.
