HomeMy WebLinkAboutResolution 04-01-1952 RESOLUTION NO. BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF CANTON, ILLINOIS. THAT WHEREAS, there is a sincere desire upon the part of the Mayor and the members of the City Council of Canton, Illinois, to furnish water and sewer facilities to the property owners in the new additions in the northern section of said City of Canton, by extending water and sewer mains north on North Main Street Limits so as to service said properties as described and located on North Main Street Limits and the following Additions to the said City of Canton, Illinois: To-wit: Van Dyke Park Addition and Maplehurst Addition to Canton, Illinois. WHEREAS, it is apparent that at this time that funds will not be available for this purpose or at least in sufficient amount from the X250,000.00 Bond Issue voted for the improvement of the Canton Lake as originally contemplated. WHEREAS, further the City Treasurer and the Finance Com- mittee of said City of Canton, Illinois by their computations and calculations have decided that it will not be necessary to continue to deposit the sum of $2,800.00 to the fund in the Water and Sewer Revenue Bond account as heretofore for the discharge of the principal and interest on former outstanding Revenue Bonds of the Water and Sewer Department. THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY. COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF CANTON, ILLINOIS; That the Water and Sewer Committee of the City of Canton, Illinois are authorized and directed to cause the City Treasurer to reduce the amount of transfer of funds from the Water and Sewer Account to the Water and Sewer Revenue Account from the sum of ; 2,800.00 to the sum of $800.00 as of March, 1952, arid to continue said reduction and to transfer of only the sum of $800.00 until, I, -2- Resolution No. continued and during the months of April, 1954, or a period of twenty-six months, and the sum of $2,000.00 shall be held and preserved in a certain fund to be used solely for the extension of water and sewer facilities to the properties as above described in this resolution, unless and only as expressly ordered and directed by the subsecuent order of this Council. AND BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that said fund be used for the purpose of extending water and sewer mains to the additions above described, when and at the time that the property owners and inter- ested parties living in said districts or additions deposit or cause to be deposited with the City Treasurer and the Water Department Account a sum of at least $ g o o o . o a to be credited as advance payment of charges for water service of the respective subscribers or contributors.
