HomeMy WebLinkAboutResolution 01-06-1953 .y.y RESOLUTION 'WhE"REAS, there is a substantial surplus in the Parking Meter Fund and an insufficient sum in the Street and Alley Fund to meet outstanding obligations created by the City, by and through the City Council of the City of Canton, Illinois, and for other obligations created and proposed during the current Fiscal Year, to be used in oiling, gravelling or improvement of the streets of Canton, Illinois; NOW, Ti EREFORE, be it resolved by the City Council that the sum of Two Thousand (;;2,000.00) Dollars be transferred from the Parking ivIeter Fund to the Street and Alley Fund for the express purpose for meeting, paying, and discharging the obligations heretofore created by said City, by and through said Street and Alley Committee and said obligation money be heretofore and hereafter approved by the City Council and City of Canton, Illinois , in regular and proper form, said sums of money being for the express purpose of financing oiling, gravelling and improve- ment of the streets of the City of Canton, Illinois , as aforesaid. NOW, T RE1,ORE, be it hereby resolved that the duly appointed Treasurer of said T,'unicipal Corporation be directed to arrange for said transfer of said sum as above stated, to-wit; the sum of Two Thousand ( 2,000.00) Dollars, from the Parking i?eter Fund to the Street and Alley Fund of Canton, Illinois. WHEREAS, it appears to the City Council of the City of Canton, Illinois, that in a certain paving improvement designated as "Canton Paving Improvement Number 51-A", there was assessed against the Estate of D. W. Soper, Deceased, the sum of 4625.00, being the special assessment on the following described real estate, to-wit: Lots Numbered 7, 8, 9, 1Q, and 11 of Eyerly Brotherts Addition to the City of "anton, bounty of Fulton and State of Illinois; AND WHEREAS, said Lots have since been sold and it is necessary to divide said assessment according to the individual Lots. THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF CANON, ILLINOIS: That Lots Numbered 7 and 8 of said Addition shall be assessed in the sum of 4280.00, divided into ten installments of 428.00, each; that Lots Numbered 9, 10 and 11 of said Addition shall be assessed at the sum of 411.5.01 each, the first installment to be 416.00, the remain- ing nine to be 411.00 each. BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF ',NTA, ILLINOIS: that The City Clerk of said City, shall eertify a copy this Resolution to the City Treasurer, ex-officio Collector of Special Assess- ments of said City, and this shall be his authority to change said Assess- ments to conform to this Resolution.
