AN ORDINANCE GRANTING A HOME OCCUPATION PERMIT TO PHILIP
lt~f. FIFE, SR, AND IRIS L. FIFE, AT THE ADDRESS OF 1525 EAST
SYCAMORE, CANTON, ILLINOIS.
WHEREAS, it appears. to the City. Council of the City of Canton, Illinois, that the
territory herainafier described is located within the corporate limits of the City-of Canton,
Illinois; and
WHEREAS, it further appears to said. City Council that Philip M. Fife and Iris L.
Fife have applied for a Home Occupation Permit according to the provisions of Title 10 of
the Canton Municipal Code, Chapter 15.1 et seq. as amended, .relating to home
occupation; and
WHEREAS, pursuant to said Ordinance allowhzg lime occupations a Notice of
Hearing was published in the Canton Daily Ledger as required by said Ordinance and a
public hearing was held thereon before the Planning and. Zoning Commission of the City of
Canton, Illinois, on the 8th day of Alave~mber, 1998; and
WHEREAS, it fizrther appears to the City Council of the City of Canton, Illinois,
that at said hearing of the .Planning and Zoning Commission, all required findings of fact
were made by substantially unanimous votes on all such findings and that the Plaruiing and
Zoning. Commission of the City of Canton, Illinois, adopted a motion. to send the Home
Occupation Permit requested by Philip M. Fife and Iris L. Fife to the City council by a
nnanimnug vote; and
WHEREAS, it further appears to the City Council of the City of Canton, Illinois,
that the Home Occupation Permit request of Philip M. Fife and Iris L. Fife should be
allowed;
THEREFORE., BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE
CITY OF CANTON, ILLINOIS:
Sectioa 1. That Philip M. Fife and Iris L. Fife shall be and they are hereby
granted a Home Occupation Permit for a period of twenty-four (24) months
from the date of the passage of this Ordinance according to An Ordinance
Amending Title 10 of the Canton Municipal Code by adding Chapter 15.1
relating to home occupations (Ordinance No. 1115).
Sectioa 2. That the property upon which said Home Occupation shall be
allowed is legally described as follows:
"Lot Number 69, Village Square Subdivision, Section 2,
in the City of Canton, County of Fulton and State of
Ibis", which property has a coz~on address of 1525
East Sycamore.
Section 3. That the Home Occupation. allowed at said location is the operation
of a real estate brokerage office iII the garage of said premises.
Section 4. That said Home Occupation shad be allowed according to the terms
and corxiitions of said Ordinance for a period of twenty-four (24} months from
the date hereof with possible renewals according to the Ordinance thereafter.
Section 5. That upon the passage of this Ordinance, the City Clerk of the
City of Canton, Illinois, shall issue a Home Occupation Permit in accordance
with this Ordinance and the same shall be prominently and publicly displayed
in the portion of the premises affected by the Permit in accordance with
Section 14-15.1-6 of the Ordinance relating to home occupations.
PASSED by a majority vote of the City Council of the City of Canton, Illinois, and
approved by the Mayor thereof this 16th ~y of November 1999.
