WHERAAS, on the 4th day of April, 1951, Ordinance No. 121 was
passed by the City Council of the City of Canton, Illinois, and approved
by the Mayor of said City;
AND WH"EREAS, said Ordinance is now in effect;
AND WHEREAS, said Ordinance among other things provides that
the number of Policemen shall be determined by the City Council of said
City by resolution adopted by said Council;
AND WHEREAS, it now appears necessary that the number of Police-
men needed for said City is 8.
BE IT THEREFORE RESOLVED 3Y THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
CANTON, ILLINOIS:
Section 1. That the number of Policemen employed by the City
of Canton shall be eight.
Section 2. That a copy of this resolution shall be sent by
the City Clerk of said City to the President of the Fire and Police
Commission of said City.
Section 3. That this resolution shall r:.e in effect on the
first day of the month following its passage by the City Council and
approval by the .iIayor.
Passed by the City Council of the City of Canton, Illinois,
and approved by the Mayor this 17th day of . NovemhPr A.D. 1953.
