ORDINANCE NO. 1632
AN ORDINANCE GRANTING A HOME OCCUPATION PERMIT FOR
THE OPERATION OF AN IN-HOME BEAUTY SHOP AT THE
ADDRESS OF 250 EAST VINE STREET, CANTON, ILLINOIS.
WHEREAS, it appears to the City Council of Canton, Fulton County,
Illinois. that the territory hereinafter described is located within the
corporate limits of the City of Canton; and ,
WHEREAS, a petion for a home occupation permit was duly filed by
the petitioner and due and proper notice was published within said City and
County, all in accordance with the Statutes of the State of Illinois and the
Ordinances of the City of Canton; and
WHEREAS, a public hearing concerning said Petition was held before
the Planning and Zoning Commission of the City of Canton, Illinois, on the
13th day of September, 1999 pursuant to notice; and
WHEREAS, no objectors appeared at said hearing and said
Commission did thereupon recommend to the Canton City Council that said
home occupation for the operation of an in-home beauty shop at 250 East
Vine, Canton, Illinois, be allowed.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL
OF THE CITY OF CANTON, FULTON COUNTY, ILLINOIS as follows:
1. That the City couch of the City of Canton, Fulton County, Illinois,
hereby finds the foregoing recitals to be fact.
2. That a Home Occupation Permit for the operation of an in-home
beauty shop be issued to, and the same hereby is issued to Steve and Dixie
Saunders of the address of 250 East Vine, Canton, Illinois, affecting property
being legally described on Exhibit A attached hereto and incorporated herein
by reference.
3. That this home occupation is to Steve and Dixie Saunders at the
above stated address only. That any cessation of such by Steve and Dixie
Saunders or their moving or removal from said address shall automatically
terminate said permit.

That, further, such home occupation permit is not transferable or valid at any
other address or property.
4. That the records of the City of Canton, appropriate documents,
maps and related regulations be, and the same hereby are, amended to reflect
the foregoing home occupation permit.
PASSED by the City Council of the City of Canton, Fulton County,
Illinois at the regular meeting this 5th day of October 9 q upon a roll
call vote as follows:
AYES: Aldermen Shores , Meade, Nidiffer, 5axtf, I-iartford.
NAYS : None .
ABSENT: Aldermen May, Phillips, Molleck,

It is the recommendation of the Planning and Zoning commission to grant the following
requests:
• The request of Steve and Dixie Saunders to obtain a special use /home occupational
permit for a one chair beauty salon in the basement of 250 E. Vine.
• The request of Jana S. Taylor to obtain a special use /home occupational permit for a
dog grooming shop in the residence at 704 S. 3rd.
• The request of Kerri A. Shaffer for a special use /home occupational permit for an in
home child care center at 469 S. 2nd.
