HomeMy WebLinkAbout#4108 canton Lake Campground ORDINANCE NO. 4108 ORDINANCE AMENDING PROVISION 8-11-7-5 RELATIVE TO THE RULES AND REGULATIONS AND FEES AFFILIATED WITH THE CANTON LAKE CAMPGROUND FOR THE CITY OF CANTON,ILLINOIS WHEREAS, the City of Canton owns real estate which encompasses a campground near Canton Lake and areas to camp where certain utilities are provided; WHEREAS, Section 8-11-7-5 entitled Rules and Regulations, Public Campgrounds currently provides the existing rules and regulations and camping rates; WHEREAS, the City of Canton has the authority to alter, amend or create new rules and regulations and alter the rates relative to the provision of certain services and camping itself; WHEREAS, the City of Canton has deemed it necessary to increase the rates and otherwise amend Section 8-11-7-5 as seen below. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED, by the City Council for the City of Canton, Fulton County, Illinois, as follows: SECTION 1: Section 8-11-7-5 shall now state as follows "8-11-7-5: RULES AND REGULATIONS, PUBLIC CAMPGROUNDS: (A) Lake Canton Campground Rules: 1. Camping shall be in designated areas only. 2. Camping fees, payable in advance, shall be: (a) (1) For residents of the city of Canton: Tent Daily Tent Camping Camping Camping Camping With Electric With Electric With Electric With Electric with Electric Weekly Monthly Season $10.00 $12.00 $14.00 $95.00 300.00 $1,620.00 (2) For nonresidents: Tent Daily Tent Camping Camping Camping Camping With Electric With Electric With Electric With Electric with Electric Weekly Monthly Season $11.00 $13.00 $15.00 $100.00 $335.00 $1,800.00 1 For purposes of this subsection, "resident" is defined as all persons whose principal residence is within the corporate limits of the City of Canton; or, who have lake lot leases and who are current on lease payments and otherwise are fully in compliance with their lease provisions. The address as set forth on the applicant's driver's license shall be prima facie proof of residence. 3. Checkout time is one o'clock(1:00) P.M. 4. All trailers must be a minimum of twenty five feet (25') apart. 5. No loud, disturbing or excess noise is permitted between ten o'clock (10:00) P.M. and eight o'clock(8:00)A.M. 6. Overnight guests must adhere to all rules; campground closes at eleven o'clock (11:00) P.M. for guests. 7. No outside refrigerators are permitted. 8. All pets must be confined on a leash. No doghouses are permitted. 9. All boats or watercraft operated between sunset and sunrise shall be equipped with lights that can be clearly observed from any quarter by an approaching boat and that meet all provisions of the state statute. A "no wake" period is in effect between sunset and sunrise for all boats and watercraft. 10. All boats shall be launched and retrieved at the boat dock only. 11. No rubber rafts shall be launched or retrieved at the campground area or at the beach area. 12. No swimming is permitted except as otherwise provided in this code. 13. All persons are to stay out of boats tied up at the campground area. 14. Children are to be supervised on the dock. 15. All fish heads, entrails and other refuse and garbage shall be rolled in paper, placed in a double plastic bag, sealed and then deposited in a designated trash barrel, or dumpster. 16. Fishing shall be by pole and line only. No trotlines are permitted. 17. No public picnics are allowed in campgrounds, campers only. 18. No fireworks are allowed in camping areas; anyone doing so will be asked to vacate immediately. 19. Campsites are limited to one picnic table per site. 2 20. There will be a twenty five dollar ($25.00) check charge for any returned checks, and camper will be required to pay in cash thereafter. 21. That the camping fees pertaining to residents and non-residents, as defined in this amendment, shall take effect on June 1, 2018. That residents and non-residents as defined in this ordinance may utilize the rates as detailed in this ordnance, with the effective date of May 1, 2012, up until June 1, 2018, when the rates detailed herein shall take full force and effect. Any person who shall violate this section or any provision thereof shall be ordered from the campground and shall forfeit his campground privileges for the remainder of the permit period, without refund of the camping fee. If any such person fails or refuses to leave the campground, he shall be subject to a fine of not less than twenty five dollars ($25.00) nor more than five hundred dollars ($500.00) for each such failure or refusal." SECTION 2: That upon passage of this amendment, the City Clerk shall be instructed to submit to the Codifiers of Municipal Ordinance the said Ordinance amendment for insertion in its proper place and each copy of this Code within thirty(30) days of its final passage.
