ORDINANCE NO. 1611
AN ORDINANCE REZONING CERTAIN PROPERTY OWNED BY NEWTON L.
SIMPSON, FROM AG-1 ZONING CONFIGURATION TO A R-2 ZONING
CONFIGURATION.
WHEREAS, it appears to the City Council of the City of Canton, Illinois, that the
territory hereinafter described is located within the corporate limits of said City of Canton;
and
IT FURTHER APPEARING to said City Council that the territory hereinafter
described is owned by Newton L. Simpson; and
IT FURTHER APPEARING to said City Council that a Petition for Rezoning has
been filed by the petitioner, Newton L. Simpson, requesting that the property hereinafter
described be rezoned from an AG-1 zoning configuration to a R-2 zoning configuration;
and
IT FURTHER APPEARING to said City Council that a public hearing was
conducted by the Planning & Zoning Commission of the City of Canton, Illinois, in
accordance with the laws of this State and the ordinances of the City of Canton, Fulton
County, Illinois, on November 9, 1978, and said Planning & Zoning Commission
unanimously recommended that the property hereinafter described be rezoned from AG-1
zoning configuration to a R-2 zoning configuration;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED by the City Council of the City of
Canton, Illinois, as follows:
Section 1. That the territory described as follows:
A PART OF THE SOUTHEAST QUARTTER OF SECTION NUMBER
THIRTY-FOUR (34) IN TOWNSHIP SEVEN (7) NORTH, RANGE FOUR
(4) EAST OF THE FOURTH PRINCIPAL MERIDAN, CANTON, FULTON
COUNTY, ILLINOIS,
Described as follows:
Beginning at a point 981 feet East and 567.75 feet North of the S. W.
corner of said S. E. Quarter of said Section 34, running thence North 208.75
feet, thence East 208.75 feet, thence South 208.75 Sgt, thence, West 208.75
feet, to the place of beginning, excepting therefrom the following described tract:
Beginning at the S.W. corner of said above described tract, running thence
North 144 feet, thence East 80 feet, thence South 144 feet, thence West 80 feet
to the place of beginning.

~ being owned by Newton L. Simpson, be and the same is hereby rezoned from an AG-1
zoning configuration to a R-2 zoning configuration, in accordance with the applicable
rules, laws, and regulations of the Illinois Municipal Code.
Section 2. That the City Zoning Administrator is hereby instructed and ordered to
make the necessary adjustments to the zoning map of the City of Canton, Illinois, to
reflect the rezoning hereunder.
Section 3. That this ordinance was passed and became in full force and effect
immediately upon its passage by a majority vote of the aldermen holding office in the City
of Canton, Fulton County, Illinois at a regular meeting of the City Council of the City of
Canton, Illinois, this 15~ day of ~~~Qr 1998, upon a roll call vote as
follows:
AYES: Aldermen Shores, May, Nidiffer, Sarff, Nblleclc, Hartford,
NAYS: None,
ABSENT: Aldermen Meade, Phillips .
