ORDINANCE NO. 160
AN ORDINANCE GRANTING A HOME OCCUPATION PERMIT FOR THE
OPERATION OF A BEAUTY SHOP AT 618 EAST ELM STREET, CANTON,
ILLINOIS OF MARIAN F. BARNES.
WHEREAS, it appeazs to the City Council of the City of Canton, Fulton County,
Illinois that the territory hereinafter described is located within the corporate limits at 618
East Elm Street,
WHEREAS, a Petition for a Home Occupation Permit was filed by the petitioner and
notice thereof was published within said City and County, all in accordance with the
Statutes of the State of Illinois and the Ordinances of the City of Canton; and,
WHEREAS, a public heazing concerning such petition was held before the Planning
and Zoning Commission of the City of Canton, Illinois on November 9, 1998 pursuant to
notice; and,
WHEREAS, no objectors appeared at said hearing and said Commission did
thereupon recomend to the Canton City Council that said Home Occupation Permit be
issued for the operation of a Beauty Shop by Mazian F. Barnes at 618 East Elm Street,
Canton, Illinois.
NOW THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE
CITY OF CANTON, FULTON COUNTY, ILLINOIS AS FOLLOWS:
1. That the City Council of the City of Canton, Fulton County, Illinois hereby finds the
foregoing recitals to be fact.
2. That a Home Occupation Permit for the operation of a Beauty Shop issue to, and
the same hereby is issued to Mazian F. Barnes at 618 East Elm Street, Canton, Illinois
affecting real property described as follows, to-wit:
East 38' ofNorth ll7' of Lot 100, and West 3' off Lot 101, Barnes and Jones
Addition, City of Canton, County of Fulton, State of Illinois.
3. That this Home Occupation is personal to Mazian F. Barnes at the above stated
address only for a term of two yeazs from the date hereof; any cessation of such use shall
automatically terminate said Home Occupation Permit; such Home Occupation Permit is
not transferrable or valid at any other address or affecting any other property.
4. That the records of the City of Canton, appropriate documents, maps and related
regulations be, and the same hereby aze, amended to reflect the foregoing Home
Occupation Permit.
