ORDINANCE NO. 1603
AN ORDINANCE REZONING CERTAIN PROPERTY OF
NORWEST BANK ILLINOIS, N.A., LAND TRUSTEE,
LOCATED AT 25 W. SPRUCE, 43W. SPRUCE, 316 N. MAIN,
328 N. MAIN, 336 N. MAIN AND 370 N. MAIN
STATE OF ILLINOIS, )
COUNTY OF FULTON, ) SS.
CITY OF CANTON. )
WHEREAS, it appearing to the City Council of the City of Canton, Illinois, that
the property hereinafter described is located within the City of Canton, Illinois, and is
zoned in a B-2 zoning configuration in part and in an R-2 zoning configuration in part;
and,
WHEREAS, the Planning & Zoning Commission of the City of Canton, Illinois,
pursuant to law, has held a public hearing concerning the request of Norwest Bank
Illinois, N.A., not individually, but as Land Trustee under Land Trust No. 21-331 ("Land
Trustee") to rezone the property hereinafter described so that the entire parcel thereof is
in a B-2 zoning configuration; and,
WHEREAS, the Planning & Zoning Commission of the City of Canton, Illinois,
has unanimously recommended to the City Council of the City of Canton, Illinois, that
said rezoning requested by the Land Trustee be allowed; and,
WHEREAS, the unanimous recommendation of rezoning to a B-2 zoning
configuration by the Planning & Zoning Commission of the City of Canton, Illinois, is

consistent with the comprehensive plan for land use and development of lands in the City
of Canton, Illinois;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF
THE CITY OF CANTON, ILLINOIS, AS FOLLOWS:
1. That the following described property shall be and it is hereby rezoned
from its existing zoning configuration of R-2 and B-2 so that the whole parcel shall be
and the same is hereafter rezoned in a B-2 Business zoning configuration according to the
ordinances of the City of Canton and the statutes of the State of Illinois so made and
provided, to-wit:
Lots 58, 63 and 70, Original Town of Canton;
And
The East 42.5 feet of Lot 57, Original Town of Canton;
And
The East 50 feet of the North Half of Lot 64, Original Town of Canton;
And
The East 54.25 feet of the South Half of Lot 64, Original Town of Canton;
And
The East 44.25 feet of Lot 69, Original Town of Canton.
2. That, upon the passage of this Ordinance, the zoning maps of the City of
Canton, Illinois, shall be appropriately changed and amended to reflect that the property
described in Section 1 hereof shall be and the same is hereafter zoned in a B-2 zoning
configuration.

3. That this Ordinance shall be in force and effect upon the passage thereof
by the City Council of the City of Canton, Illinois, according to the Council's established
rules and the ordinances of the City of Canton and the statutes of the State of Illinois so
made and provided, and the execution thereof by the Mayor of the City of Canton,
Illinois.
PASSED by a vote of 8 ayes and ~ nos at a regular meeting of the City
Council of the City of Canton, Illinois, on the 3rd day of November , 1998.
