HomeMy WebLinkAboutOrdinance #1602`~.. ORDINANCE NO. ~ Ll17 AN ORDINANCE REZONING CERTAIN PROPERTY LOCATED AT THE NORTHWEST CORNER OF NORTH FIFTH AVENUE AND EAST LOCUST STREET, OWNED BY WAYNE A. CRUMLEY AND SHIRLEY M. CRUMLEY, FROM R-4 TO B-2 ZONING CONFIGURATION. WHEREAS, it appears to the City Council of the City of Canton, Illinois, that the territory hereinafter described is located within the corporate limits of said City of Canton; and IT FURTHER APPEARING to said City Council that the territory hereinafter described is owned by Wayne A. crumley and Shirley M. crumley; and IT FURTHER APPEARING to said City Council that a Petition for Rezoning has been filed by the petitioners, Wayne A. Crumley and Shirley M. crumley, requesting that the property hereinafter described be rezoned from R-4 to B-2 City of Canton zoning configuration; and IT FURTHER APPEARING to said City Council that a public hearing was conducted by the Planning & Zoning Commission of the City of Canton, Illinois, in accordance with the laws of this State and the ordinances of the City of Canton, Fulton County, Illinois, on October 12, 1998, and said Planning & Zoning Commission unanimously recommended that the property hereinafter described be rezoned from R-4 to B-2 zoning configuration; NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED by the City Council of the City of canton, Illinois, as follows: Section 1. That the territory described as follows: Lots 4, 5 and 6 in Block 1 of KELLOGG and BABCOCK ADDITION to the City of Canton; and commonly known as 443 East Locust Street, 453 East Locust Street, 459 East Locust Street respectively; and .~ ''~. . . Lot 3 in ALLEN A. BURNAP ADDITION to the City of Canton; and ` commonly known as 210 North Fifth Avenue; all situated in the County of Fulton and State of Illinois; being owned Wayne A. crumley and Shirley M. Crumley, be and the same are hereby rezoned from R-4 to s-2 city of canton zoning configuration, in accordance with the applicable rules, laws and regulations of the Illinois Municipal code. Section 2. That the above-described property shall be and the same is hereby designated with a 8-2 zoning configuration, general commercial district. Section 3. That the City Zoning Administrator is hereby instructed and ordered to make the necessary adjustments to the zoning map of the City of canton, Illinois, to reflect the rezoning hereunder. section 4. That this ordinance was passed and became in full force and effect immediately upon its passage by a majority vote of the aldermen holding office in the city of Canton, Fulton county, Illinois at a regular meeting of the City council of the City of Canton, Illinois, this 3rd day of , 1998, upon a roll call vote as follows: AYES: Aldermen Shores, May, Nidiffer, Meade, Sarff, Phillips, MolleCk, Hartford, NAYS: Djcme, ABSENT:j~pp~, DON D E.
