ORDINANCE N0. 1597
AN ORDINANCE GRANTING A SPECIAL USE PERMIT FOR PART OF LOTS 8&9
OF WRIGHT'S ADDITION, CANTON, ILLINOIS, FOR R-4 CONFIGURATION
WITH A SPECIAL USE PERMIT.
WHEREAS, the Planning and Zoning Commission of the City of
Canton has, after Notice and Hearing, unanimously recommended the
granting of the special use permit, on Petition of Stephen R.
Richter and Cynthia Richter, for property generally located at 28
East Walnut Street, Canton, Illinois, and which is legally
described as follows:
Part of Lots numbered 8 and 9 in Wright's addition to
the City of Canton, situated in the County of Fulton
and the State of Illinois, described as follows:
Commencing at the Northwest Corner of said Lot 8,
running thence South 90 feet, thence West 60 feet,
thence North 90 feet, thence East 60 feet to the Place
of beginning.
to R-4 (Multiple-Family Residential District) with a special use
permit under Section 10-7-3 (d) under the Zoning Ordinance of
this City; and,
WHEREAS, this Council is fully advised in the premises; and,
WHEREAS, it is in the best interest of the City of Canton to
grant the special use permit as petitioned.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE
CITY OF CANTON, Fulton County, Illinois, as follows:
1. That the Canton City Council hereby finds the foregoing
recitals to be fact.
2. That the Special Use Permit under Section 10-7-3(d) of the
Canton Municipal Code issue to Stephen R. Richter and Cynthia
Richter. That a certified copy of this Ordinance shall
constitute such special use permit and shall issue immediately
upon passage and approval of this Ordinance.
3. That the appropriate officials of this City mark and make
such changes on the Zoning Map of this City as may be necessary
to properly display the zoning change Ordained and do such other
acts as are customarily done to reflect the zoning change.
4. Thatlhis Ordinance shall be in full force and effect
immediately upon its passage by the City Council of the City of
Canton, Fulton County, Illinois, and approval by the Mayor
thereof.

PASSED by the City Council of the City of Canton, Fulton
County, Illinois, at a regular meeting this 18th day of August,
1998 upon a roll call vote as follows:
AYES: Aldermen Shores, May, Nidiffer, Meade, Sarff, Phillips,
Molleck, Hartford.
NAYS : None.
ABSENT: None.
