ORDINANCE NO. 15135
AN ORDINANCE ANNEXING CERTAIN PROPERTY OWNED BY CHRISTY
WILLIAMS, LOCATED AT 2092 NORTH MAIN STREET, CANTON, ILLINOIS, AND
DESIGNATING SUCH PROPERTY AS A R-2 ZONING CONFIGURATION.
WHEREAS, it appears to the City Council of the City of Canton, Illinois, that the territory hereinafter
described is not located in any municipality, but that the same is located outside the corporate limits of said City
of Canton; and
IT FURTHER APPEARING to said City Council that the territory hereinafter described, being owned by
Christy Williams, is contiguous to the City of Canton along its East boundary line thereof; and
IT FURTHER APPEARING to said City Council that a Petition for Annexation and Rezoning has been filed
by the petitioner, CHRISTY WILLIAMS, requesting that the property hereinafter described be annexed to the City
of Canton in a R-2 zoning configuration; and
IT FURTHER APPEARING to said City Council that a public hearing was conducted by the Planning &
Zoning Commission of the City of Canton, Illinois in accordance with the laws of this State and the ordinances of
the City of Canton, Fulton County, Illinois, on May 11,1998, and said Planning & Zoning Commission unanimously
recommended that the property hereinafter described be annexed to the City of Canton in an R-2 zoning
configuration; and
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED by the City Council of the City of Canton, Illinois, as follows:
Section 1. That the territory described as follows:
All that part of Tract No. 3 in Subdivision of the North half of the Northeast Quarter of Section 15,
Township 7 North, Range 4 East of the Fourth Principal Meridian, lying West of the West line of
a Public Highway known as Section U-15D State Aid Road Route 3, containing 2.84 acres, more or
less, all in Fulton County, Illinois.
owned by Christy Williams, be and the same is hereby annexed to the City of Canton, County of Fulton, State of
Illinois, in accordance with the applicable rules, laws and regulations of the Illinois Municipal Code.
Section 2. That the above-described property shall be and the same is hereby designated with a R-2 zoning

configuration, single-family residential district.
Section 3. That the City Zoning Administrator is hereby instructed and ordered to make the necessary
adjustments to the zoning map of the City of Canton, Illinois, to reflect the annexation and rezoning hereunder.
Section 4. That the City Engineer of the City of Canton, Illinois, has prepared an appropriate plat reflecting
the addition of the above-described property to the City of Canton by virtue of the annexation herein and making
same a part of the permanent record of the City of Canton, Illinois.
Section 5. That this Ordinance was passed and became in full force and effect immediately upon its passage
by a majority vote of the aldermen holding office in the City of Canton, Fulton County, Illinois at a regular meeting
of the City Council of the City of Canton, Illinois, this 2°d day of June, 1998, upon a roll call vote as follows:
AYES: Aldermen. Shores, May, Nidiffer, Meade, Sarff, Phillips, Molleck, Hartford.
NAYS: None•
ABSENT: Nane.
