AN ORDINANCE AUTHORIZING THE SALE OF CERTAIN PERSONAL PROPERTY
OWNED BY THE CITY OF CANTON
WHEREAS, in the opinion of the corporate authorities of the City of Canton, it is no longer
necessary or useful to or for the best interests of the City of Canton to retain the following described
personal property now owned by the City of Canton:
2005 Ford Crown Victoria Police Car-VIN#2FAFP71 W45X145655 (102,000 miles)
1993 Ford F 150-VIN#1FTEF14H8PLA49823 (155,664 miles); and
WHEREAS, the City of Canton, Illinois, would like to offer the matter for sale by scrapping
the vehicles;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED, by the City Council for the City of Canton,
Fulton County, Illinois, as follows:
SECTION 1: The foregoing recitals are incorporated herein as findings of the City Council
of the City of Canton;
SECTION 2: Pursuant to 65 ILCS 5/11-76-4 of the Illinois Municipal Code, the Council,
Mayor and Public Works Department find that the personal property described herein, now owned by
the City of Canton, is no longer necessary or useful to the City of Canton or for the public purpose
and is in the best interest of the City of Canton to sell these matters and scrap same;
SECTION 3: Pursuant to said Section 11-76-4, the City of Canton, the Public Works
Department, and whoever is necessary to effectuate the sale and the scrapping of these vehicles are
hereby authorized and directed to scrap the vehicles at an appropriate price they may seek;
SECTION 4: This Ordinance shall be in full force and effect from and after its passage and
approval in the manner provided by law.
