AN ORDINANCE REZONING CERTAIN PROPERTY OF CASEY' S GENERAL STORES,
INC. IN THE CITY OF CANTON FROM R-2 TO B-2.
WHEREAS, it appears to the City Council of the City of Canton, Illinois, that the territory
hereinafter described is located within the corporate limits of said City of Canton, Illinois, and is
currently zoned in an R-2, Residential zoning configuration; and,
WHEREAS, a petition for rezoning has been filed by the Petitioner, Casey's General
Stores, Inc. to rezone the property hereinafter described to a B-2, General Commercial zoning
configuration; and,
WHEREAS, a public hearing was conducted by the Planning and Zoning Commission of
the City of Canton, Illinois, in accordance with the laws of this State and the ordinances of the
City of Canton, Illinois, on the ~ 2th day of May , 1997, and said Planning and
Zoning Commission recommended that the property hereinafter described be rezoned from R-2 to
a B-2 zoning configuration. and,
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCII, OF THE CITY
OF CANTON, II.LINOIS:
Section 1. That the territory described as follows:
A lot located in the West One Half of the South One Half of the
Northeast Quarter (W. 1/2, S. 1/2, N.E. 1/4) of Section Fifteen
(15), Township 7 North, Range 4 East of the Fourth Principal
Meridian, in Fulton County, Illinois, bounded and described as
follows:
Beginning at a point 652.5 feet East and 968 feet South of a stone
near the Northwest corner of the South One Half of the Northeast
Quarter (S. 1/2, N.E. 1/4) of said Section Fifteen (15); thence West
150 feet; thence South 145 feet 2 1/2 inches; thence East 150 feet;
thence North 145 feet 2 1/2 inches to the place of beginning,
situated in Fulton County, Illinois;
be and the same is hereby zoned as a B-2 zoning configuration according to the City Code of the
City of Canton, Illinois.
Section 2. That the City Zoning Administrator is hereby instructed and ordered to make
the necessary amendments on the zoning map of the City of Canton, Illinois, to reflect the changes
required by this Ordinance.
Section 3. That this Ordinance shall be in full force and effect immediately upon its
passage by a majority vote of the aldermen holding office in the City of Canton, Fulton County,
Illinois, at a regular meeting this 3rd day of Jae , 1997, upon a roll call vote
as follows:
AYES: Aldermen Molleck, Meade, Nidiffer, May, Shores,
NAYS: Aldermen Phillips, Sarff,
ABSENT: Alderman Hartford.
