AN ORDINANCE ANNEXING CERTAIN PROPERTY OWNED BY MICHAEL WILLIAM
AND DEBRA SUE WHEELER, TO THE CITY OF CANTON, FULTON COUNTY ILLINOIS,
IN AN R-2 ZONING CLASSIFICATION.
WHEREAS, it appears to the City Council of the City of Canton
Illinois, that the territory hereinafter described is not located
in any municipality, but that the same is located outside the
corporate limits of said City of Canton; and,
IT FURTHER APPEARING to said City Council that a Petition for
annexation and zoning has been filed by the Petitioners Michael
W. & Debra S. Wheeler, requesting that the property hereinafter
described be annexed to the City of Canton in an R-2 zoning
classification; and,
IT FURTHER APPEARING to said City Council that a public hearing
was conducted by the Planning & Zoning Commission of the City of
Canton, Illinois, in accordance with the laws of this State and
the ordinances of the City of Canton, Fulton County, Illinois, on
April 14, 1997, and said Planning & Zoning Commission recommended
that the property hereinafter described be annexed to the City of
Canton, in an R-2 zoning classification;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF CANTON, ILLINOIS:
Section 1. That the territory described as follows:
A part of the Southeast Quarter of Section 28,
Township 7 North, Range 4 East of the Fourth
Principal Meridian, Fulton County, Illinois:
Commencing at the Southwest corner of said
Southeast Quarter; thence bearing East, a
distance of 281.16 feet; thence bearing North,
a distance of 735.23 feet to the A?orthwest
corner of parcel No. 2 as shown on a Plat of
Survey by Gordon P. Braun, Illinois Registered
Land Surveyor No. 2313 and the Point of Begin-
ning; thence continuing bearing North, a distance
of 121.79 feet to the Northwest corner of the
Lyle L. Hebb and Betty L. Hebb property as des-
cribed in Document No. 378268 recorded in Volume
730 on Page 530, Fulton County Land Records;
thence bearing East a distance of 212.18 feet
' to the Northeast corner of said Lyle L. Hebb
and Betty L. Hebb property; thence along the
East line of said Lyle L. Hebb and Betty L.
Hebb property bearing South, a distance of
344.02 feet; thence bearing West, a distance
of 122.18 feet to the Southeast corner of said
Parcel No. 2; thence bearing North, a distance
of 222.23 feet to the Northeast corner of said
Parcel No. 2; thence bearing West,a distance
of g0 feet to the Point of Beginning,
be and the same is hereby annexed to the City of Canton, County
of Fulton, State of Illinois, in accordance with the applicable
rules, laws, and regulations of the Illinois Municipal Code.
Section 2. That the above-described property shall be and
the same is hereby designated with and R-2 zoning classification,
single family residential.
Section 3. That the City Zoning Administrator is hereby
instructed and ordered to make the necessary adjustments to the
zoning map of the City of Canton, Illinois, to reflect the annexation
and zoning hereunder.
Section 4. That this ordinance was passed and became in full
force and effect immediately upon its passage by the majority vote
of the aldermen holding office in the City of Canton, Fulton County,
Illinois, at the regular meeting of the City Council of the City
of Canton, Illinois, this 6th day of May , 1997,
upon a roll call vote as follows:
AYES: Aldermen May, Shores, Meade,, Nidi~fer, Phillips, Sar~f,
Hartford.
NAYS: None.
ABSENT: Alderman Molleck.
